story

I've been in the media, advertising and marketing industry for over a decade. But I haven’t always been a creative.

Upon finishing University in 2011 I landed on my feet as the Sponsorship and Marketing Manager for an industry association called Clubs SA.

I spent nearly three years with Clubs SA where I got to work with brands like Coopers, HostPlus, Lion, CUB, Sky and Foxtel by virtue of managing their respective sponsorship contracts with the association. A truly great first ‘real’ job.

In 2014 I was poached by an agency called Jarvis Marketing, who at the time was doing some work for Clubs SA. For the next two and a half years I learnt the basics of advertising from top to bottom, including media, account service, creative, and design.

In 2016 I undertook AdSchool Copywriting and then entered the AWARD School Diversity Challenge. Whilst at the Diversity Challenge in Sydney, I won a scholarship to AWARD School 2017 by virtue of finishing runner up. Pretty cool considering the event was hosted by some of Australia’s most senior creatives, from BMF, Clemenger BBDO and Saatchi & Saatchi.

Late in 2016 I moved to a branding agency called Algo Mas as their lead Account Manager. Whilst in this role I began my 2017 AWARD School scholarship. That's when things got awesome and I was forced to make a decision about the next stage of my career.

After only two weeks of AWARD School 2017 I was offered a job as a Copywriter by my mentor agency off the back of some outdoor ideas for a Toyota Hilux brief. The decision was simple and just like that, I took the plunge into my life as a creative at KWP! Advertising.

Three and a half years at KWP! armed me with experience working on big campaigns and opened my eyes to the commercial and practical realities of creative and working in a big agency. In this time I was able to pick up a few awards and work on some major campaigns for SAPOL, MAC, Coopers Brewery, DPC, RAA, SA Government, OTR, Uni SA and Foodland. Plus, I was the lead writer on three successful (SA, NSW & Federal) election campaigns.

A desire for a stronger focus on pure creative and the lure of multinational brands drew me to my next creative career move to TBWA where I have worked on some of the countries biggest brands including NAB, Coles, Mainland, Bega, G’day Parks, Medibank, Patties Food Group, Vodka Cruiser, SOLO, Cool Ridge and a few more I can’t remember right now. TBWA has elevated my professionalism, and creativity, plus given me opportunities to travel.

What's next? You tell me...

me

I'm a lover of all things sport. So if it rolls, bounces, runs, swings, hits, accelerates or tackles...I'm listening.

I have a passion for motorcycling. I love nothing more than clearing my head on a Saturday morning in the Adelaide Hills. Attached to this is my unquenchable thirst for MotoGP. So if you know who Valentino Rossi is, we can be friends.

At high school I was an elite junior golfer. But a lack of money meant I couldn't really pursue my talent to its potential, however my love for the game is still strong. Now golf is just good fun for me, but don't challenge me…you will go down.

Music is a passion of mine, guitar specifically. I am currently good enough to impress people who can’t play any guitar at all, beyond that not so much. But I still have fun, and love to write songs and sing. Need a jingle? Maybe? No? Ok then.

Aside from bikes, sports, and guitar, I love 90's music, standup comedy and ads...I like good ads.
